See 5th Grade Students Using Cellphone Computers - Keller, TX

The video in the link below is of 5th graders in Keller TX using cellphone computers -- provided by Verizon Wireless and HTC, with software (Mobile Learning Environment) and professional  development provided by GoKnow Learning.  The students started using the devices in January 2009; the video was made in May, 2009.

The video was created by the Pearson Foundation. The goal was to show what a classroom looks like when students use cellphone computers for all their curricular activities -- for 80-90% of the school day.

Remember: the voice service and the texting service are not activated. Thus, no phones ring to disturb the classroom; no children copy tests and text them to their friends, etc.

Secretary of Education Duncan says that students should use cellphones in K-12

This is an historic moment; the highest ranking educator in America is now on record supporting the use of cellphones - not their ban - from K-12 classrooms. BE SURE TO PLAY THIS VIDEO. To download this video CLICK HERE (this version is in .wmv format).
